STEPHEN LAMBERT LAUNCHES NEW PRODUCTION COMPANY
Studio Lambert in partnership with
ALL3MEDIA
March 25, 2008 (London) -
Studio Lambert, a new television production company, was launched
today in partnership with the UK’s largest independent
television group, All3MEDIA.
Stephen Lambert, chief executive of Studio
Lambert, is one of Britain’s best known creative television
executives, the man who brought to the screen ground-breaking
new programmes such as Faking It, Wife Swap,
and, most recently, the Rose D’Or winning and BAFTA-nominated
The Secret Millionaire.
A talented team of experienced creatives join
Lambert in his new venture, including Peter Moore, the executive
producer of hit series such as Channel 4’s Jamie’s
Kitchen and the first series of the BBC’s The
Apprentice. Peter was head of documentaries at Channel
4 for ten years, where he founded the popular flagship series
Cutting Edge which provoked BBC2 to match
it in the 1990s with its own documentary series, Modern
Times, founded by his new colleague, Stephen Lambert.
Jenny Crowther, who series produced The
Secret Millionaire and Wife Swap,
as well as the BAFTA-winning documentary series about the
NHS, The Trust, will be developing new projects
at Studio Lambert, as will Tamara Abood, who produced Channel
4’s Brat Camp and Millionaires'
Mission. Author and journalist Michael Bywater is
a development executive and Jamie Donald, a former BBC News
executive and former deputy editor of the Today
programme, is Studio Lambert’s head of development.
Jo Crawley, who series produced Faking It¸
is head of production and Andy Coker, former finance director
of Carlton International, is head of finance.
Commenting on the starting line-up, Stephen
Lambert said:
“We all wanted to be involved in building
something new. We are delighted to be working together and
for my part, I am really pleased to be starting afresh with
such a great team. We are looking forward to announcing soon
the names of several other colleagues who will join as we
get going.”
Referring to his new company’s partnership
with All3MEDIA, Stephen Lambert added, “Steve Morrison
and his colleagues at All3MEDIA have created a great company
which knows just how to help creative teams build their businesses.
Their strength and belief in our proposition will be a great
support to our ability to develop Studio Lambert over the
next few years.”
Steve Morrison, chief executive of All3MEDIA,
added, “Stephen Lambert is one of Britain’s most
recognised creative talents. His programmes are known around
the world. He has already attracted a formidable team to his
new company. We at All3MEDIA are delighted to help them launch
Studio Lambert.”
Stephen tells the story of how he picked the
name for the new company:
“When we were trying to pick a name,
we agonised over a lot of options. Then, we hit on the idea
of resurrecting the name of my dad’s successful advertising
commercials business – Studio Lambert – which
he started when ITV began. It seemed appropriate that we should
make it stand for something new, while capturing some of the
reputation for quality and innovation that the name stood
for originally in the ad world of the 1960s and 1970s.”
Studio Lambert will be initially based in
Soho’s Beak Street, having taken space alongside Ridley
Scott’s commercials production company, RSA.
