Bob Phillis joins ALL3MEDIA as non-executive Chairman
ALL3MEDIA has appointed Bob Phillis, Chief Executive of the Guardian Media Group (GMG) as their non-executive Chairman.
Bob Phillis was appointed Chief Executive of Guardian Media Group plc (GMG) in December 1997. GMG is a wide-ranging multi-media organisation with
interests in national and regional newspapers, radio, magazine publishing and internet businesses across the UK.
He was formerly Deputy Director-General of the BBC and Chairman and Chief Executive BBC Worldwide. He joined the BBC in 1993 and was also Managing
Director BBC World Service until November 1994. He was formerly Chief Executive at ITN 1991-1993, Group Managing Director Carlton Communications
1987-1991, Managing Director of Central Independent Television 1981-1987 and Chief Executive Independent Television Publications. He was Chairman of
Zenith Productions between 1984 and 1991 and Chairman of GMG Endemol (formerly Broadcast Communications) between 1997 and 2000.
In 2002 he Chaired the Expert Panel which advised the ITC's Review of the UK Programme Supply Market requested by the Secretary of State for Culture,
Media and Sport. During 2003 he chaired an Independent Review of Government Communications, the final report of which was published in January 2004.
As well as his experience in ITV and the BBC, Bob also previously chaired well known Independent companies such as Zenith Productions and GMG Endemol.
