Lion Television was founded in 1997 and is one of the most successful independent production companies in the United Kingdom. It is headed up by Jeremy Mills, Nick Catliff, Richard Bradley and Shahana Meer.

Lion Television creates hundreds of hours of programming every year from its production bases in the UK and U.S. Its recent productions include Britain from Above (BBC), Rough Guide (Five), Chinese Food Made Easy (BBC), Homes Under the Hammer (BBC), History Detectives (PBS), Cash Cab (Discovery), Top Trumps (Five; The History Channel), The Great Wall (Channel 4/Discovery) and Britain’s Best (UKTV).

Lion’s strengths include entertainment formats, daytime, ambitious science and history shows and international co-productions.

Lion currently has more than 200 hours in production, making programmes for all UK terrestrial channels as well as cable, satellite and network for UK and US broadcasters. The company has more than 140 production staff at it’s London, Glasgow, New York, and Los Angeles bases.

 
Lion is one of the few independent television companies noted for its strong relation with international broadcasters in Europe and the United States and has pioneered relations with Asian producers and broadcasters.
 
Lion also has an award-winning interactive department who develop ideas and content for internet, mobile, broadband and interactive TV platforms. Lion Interactive has produced sites for major clients including the BBC’s groundbreaking multi-platform commission Britain from Above. It also has produced numerous sites for Channel 4 and PBS in America and received a number of accolades, including an RTS award, Learning on Screen award and BAFTA nominations.
