Maverick was formed in 1993 by Jonnie Turpie and has since grown to be one of the most successful regional production companies in the UK.  On the back of award-winning programmes such as Trade Secrets and Born Too Soon, the company has forged a reputation for producing challenging and innovative documentaries, features and factual series for all the major UK broadcasters.

In recent years, Maverick's output has included the award-winning primetime series' Ten Years Younger, How To Look Good Naked and Embarrassing Bodies. Recent documentaries have ranged from Ghetto Britain to Gail Porter Laid Bare - one of a number of films made the One Life strand. Alongside the broadcast output, Maverick has continued to pioneer in digital media. The new media department currently produces the West Midlands hub of 4Talent and runs 4Homes, alongside a raft of other creative and online initiatives. The company also produce content for Teachers TV and a number of corporate clients.

Maverick has always been adept at exploiting its programme rights - and has produced a number of books over the last ten years. Maverick formats are sold all over the world and the company is currently co-producing How To Look Good Naked in the United States. Maverick has won a number of key industry awards for its programming - including RTS Best Regional Independent for four consecutive years.

Maverick Television is run by Alexandra Fraser (Creative Director) and Jim Sayer (Managing Director) - and has offices in both Birmingham and London.
