Leading independent television, film and digital production and distribution company All3Media has announced the alignment of two of its labels, Lime Pictures and Lion Television. Lion Television will continue as one of the UK and US’s foremost factual production brands, operating as a distinctive and creative company under Lime Pictures.
Richard Bradley and Nick Catliff become Chief Creative Officer and Chief Content Officer of Lion Television, overseeing the company’s development and creative teams and focused on winning new business in the UK and internationally. Nick and Richard will report into Lime Pictures’ Joint Managing Directors Kate Little and Claire Poyser.
Lion Television MD Shahana Meer has decided that she does not wish to be part of the restructure and has chosen to leave to explore other opportunities. The realignment will see Lion Television’s London team moving to be co-sited with Lime Pictures. Lion Television’s Glasgow and New York operations remain unchanged.
Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media said: “Lion is one of the most recognised and respected production companies in the UK and around the world. Its slate of shows and formats like Homes Under The Hammer, Horrible Histories, Mary Beard history documentaries and Cash Cab are world class. The changes we are making will allow Richard and Nick to concentrate on developing the slate even further while benefitting from the operational support and resources provided by the team at Lime, along with Kate and Claire’s first-class track record of growing strong, creative and successful businesses. It’s very sad that Shahana is leaving and I’d like to thank her for playing such a key role in Lion and in the wider Group over many years. It has been a pleasure working with Shahana and I wish her every success in the future.”
Shahana Meer said: “I am so proud of what I have achieved at Lion Television. I leave on a high knowing that I have helped create and run one of the most admired and successful production companies in the UK and internationally.”
Nick Catliff and Richard Bradley said: “We’re looking forward to working closely with Claire and Kate as part of the next phase of Lion’s life. This new structure will mean the Lion team can not only continue to produce the type of programme that the company has built its reputation upon but also invest in new ideas to deliver creative growth.”
Kate Little and Claire Poyser said: “We are really excited to be working directly with Richard and Nick. We have been huge fans of Lion’s outstanding portfolio for many years and are thrilled to be able to join forces with the team.”
